There are many who will say, “you have to spend money to make money”. Yet, others will tell you that’s not quite so true. Really? It depends on what you’re talking about.
There are a lot of programs who claim that if you’ll just join their program for X amount of dollars per month that you’ll make thousands of dollars. Yet, very few have actually realized that dream. Oh, it happens, but for only the few elite members who are offered a top spot in the matrix, or whatever system is being used to calculate earnings is used. The reality of these types of programs is that the “average joe” has little to no chance of really making it unless they already have a loyal following of down-line members from another program, or a very large email list.
Now, let’s look at the requirements of the “free” programs. First, they are free to join. There are no monthly fees for being an affiliate in that particular organization and, in most cases, they provide a real, viable product – unlike the pay programs who provide you with over-used ebooks or videos to offer. The free program relies on a real product as this is the only real source of income the program earns. It’s pretty hard nowadays to promote ebooks or video’s that have been around for more years than most of us using the internet has been.
The free program provides the opportunity for you to make money with thier program because they know that the product they offer is useful. They don’t need to charge you a monthly fee for being an affiliate. They’re money is made on the basis of your success. If you don’t succeed, they don’t succeed. They have vested interest in making it as easy as possible for you to succeed. They will usually provide you with all the materials you’ll need such as banners, sample emails, and other advertising materials. And, they provide it free of charge to you.
I can’t speak for all the free, or pay programs. I can only tell you about what I know. The one program I do know is SFI. And this program IS FREE to join. I’ve seen people build an organization that earned them 5k month and more from nothing. This of course took them a long time to build, but they were in no hurry I guess. I, on the other hand, am not so patient. I took advantage of every tool that SFI had to offer, and then some.
Though not required, SFI has one of the best ad coop programs on the internet. For just $24 a month ($22 if your a Booster Club Member which is also free to become) I recieved a share of all the signups that came through, world-wide. Of course the more shares you buy, the more signups you’ll get. In the time before, and after joining SFI I had built a relationship with several different marketing sources and subsequently brokered a deal for myself and members of my organization. Getting back to my opening statement . . . with SFI you don’t have to spend money to make money as there are free alternatives available to build your organization. However, if you want to start the fastest way possible and start earning money faster, it is advisable that you plan on spending at least a little each month to promote your business.

If you own a website, getting more traffic to it is one of your most challenging goals. After all, if you are selling something, you need people to see what it is your selling and where they can buy it, right? So, how does one go about getting more traffic?
Well, there are the traditional ways, such as signing up to a myriad of traffic exchanges and spending all your time viewing other websites just so you can get a few hundred others to see yours. On the other hand, you could join a co-op that would present your website to others to see without you having to sit all day, tapping the mouse. The benefit? Free time to do as you please, when you please, or to just take care of other aspects of your business.
One such co-op, MTE Advertising Co-op, is a perfect place to start . For a small monthly charge, they will make sure your site is viewed by thousands. You’ll be able to advertise with your URL (web address), using banners and/or text links. In addition to this, you’ll also have the option to utilize a very reliable autoresponder that will enable you to build a list of customers and potential customers. That way you’ll be able to keep your list updated with new offerings, updates or other pertinent news associated with your business.
Another workable option is through LinkGrand where for a mere $5.00 you can have your site seen by as many as 1,000 other members and potential shoppers for your product(s). Here, you’ll also have the ability to earn a little extra cash by viewing other sites. Each site (or ad) that you view will earn you money.
One option I’ve found to be highly successful is Business World List. The number of people who could potentially see your site numbers in the hundreds of thousands. They have a very large membership who are looking for what you may have to offer. This is a free to join site so you’ll be able to gauge your success rate before deciding to become a member and take advantage of the whole array of advertising options available to you. As a paying member, you’ll also have the ability to earn a residual income on others you may recruit as members once they become paying members.
In any case, you’ll want to take some time and seriously consider any advertising you choose to do. Whether it be a pay per click program such as Google’s Adwords or a traffic exchange where you get visitors by looking at other peoples websites. Each, in their own right, hold their own merits. It really depends on how much time and/or money you’re willing to invest into your business. As with any business, there is always an investment you must make in order to get people into your store (or website). Consider carefully, all your options before choosing one or the other. Try them before you buy them, so to speak.
