The Internet Marketing Success Formula Doesn’t Exist

Hundreds of websites online today would have you convinced that an internet marketing success formula exists. I know, I searched long and very hard for one, each time becoming more convinced that the potential key to easy thousands was just a simple credit card transaction. Well, sadly, after my first year and a half of affiliate marketing, I can safely say that an internet marketing success formula does not exist, at least in the ways that the so called ‘affiliate marketing experts’ would have you believe. Single Mom discovers the three easy step process to make a six figure income? Give me a break, seriously.

If we drop the ’success’ bit out of ‘internet marketing success formula’, then we are left with the quest for an easy to follow, easy to understand formula which makes people money. Add the ’success’ bit back in, and we can determine that we are looking for something specific, and yes the gurus are out in full force to get you to buy their product.

Think of a cupcake. Easy to make, when one follows some instructions. I just went shopping to buy a friend of mine a baking book, and the section for cooking was gigantic! There were books to bake cupcakes and treats of all shapes and sizes, and there had to be hundreds, if not thousands of recipes to make cupcakes. Now, I headed over the money/business section, and didn’t find a single book with the title ‘internet marketing success formula’. Why?

Because it doesn’t exist. All I found were books that offered advice to ‘boost your business’, ‘earn more’ style books written by some anonymous author who give ’seminars’ and hosts ‘business meetings’. You know the sort.

So then, why doesn’t an internet marketing success formula exist in the same way that a cupcake recipe does? Because making money using the internet is not a cupcake. The internet changes – your ingredients don’t. Ten, twenty years from now you’ll still be able to put together a beautiful cupcake to enjoy with your friends, but the ways of making money online will have drastically changed. In fact, it’s likely that the methods used online today will no longer be relevant twenty years from now.

And this is my point, any ‘internet marketing success formula’ that you buy today will not, repeat not, teach you how to adapt. In the same way a river changes it’s path if a tree falls across the route, it just gets on with the job. That is something that an internet marketing success formula won’t teach you! They are so current, so ‘today’, that anyone who follows them is likely to earn a little bit of money, then backpedal, and get stuck in the 9 to 5 world again.

Am I being pessimistic by saying that an internet marketing success formula does not exist? Well, I like to think of myself as a realist, and the realist option for you is to go the extra mile and invest in some decent training that will allow you to actually understand what you’re doing, and make changes as necessary. Then twenty years from now, you’ll be in a position in your life you’ve never dreamed was possible.

Internet Marketing – Don’t Believe Everything Your Hear Pt VII

OK. if you’ve been reading this series of articles I told you that we would continue with our discussion of Traffic techniques.

One of the best traffic techniques in internet marketing is, well, as you may have noticed, Article Marketing.

Now, before we discuss this internet marketing strategy I want you to know that this is not something that will generate lots of amounts of traffic to your website right away or even in tremendous levels. It is, however, a strategy that will continue to expand with time as more and more visitors read your articles(s) and decide to take you up on whatever you’re offering.

Unlike other traffic strategies, article marketing is a long term tool that if perfected will continue to attract new visitors to your website for a long time to come.

A couple of things you need to do to make article marketing a success.

1. A Great Title – It is critical to capture the interest of your potential reader right away. Most people on the web take only a second to determine if what you are providing is worth their time. Just like a website or an email, the title (heading) needs to be interesting, unique and/or intriguing.

2. Keep ‘Um Coming Back – OK, that is also my goal in this article series. If you’ve read more than one of these articles you sort of get the idea. I hope that by providing you with a series of great articles that you’ll also take a look at what I am offering in the Resource Box at the end of the article.

3. A Self-Promoting Resource Box – You need to create a resource box that provides your reader with the information they need to decide to delve further into your offer. Such things as free memberships, free material etc. can be placed in your resource box to hopefully entice your reader to your website. The better the offer, the better the article, the more likely the reader will take you up on your offer.

4. Distribution – A great article that is read by no one is like a tree that falls in the forest but no one is there to hear it fall. So, you need to find a distribution service to get your article out to the various ezines so that it is available to a wide range of readers.

5. Outsourcing – If you are not a terrific writer or find getting words onto paper very difficult you can outsource the actual writing to a variety of services available on the internet.

6. Be Prolific – One article just won’t do it. You need to get out there with a whole bunch of articles over a period of time. Set yourself a goal of one article a week, a month etc and get them written. Without action there is no success…standing still only attracts mosquitoes.
